The mission of the Monroe Animal Hospital is to provide help to our clients and patients in their time of need. We will offer solutions and options in a professional and courteous manner that best fits our clients and patients needs and beliefs. We understand that the decision making process with regards to patient care can be varied and our job is to help the client navigate to a successful treatment decision with an understanding of all the issues involved.
Martin F. Burg, MS, DVM opened Monroe Animal Hospital in May 1992. He has an undergraduate degree in Biology from Cornell University and a Masters of Science degree from University of New Hampshire in Reproductive Physiology. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee in 1988. He enjoys many outdoor activities and is actively involved in the Boy Scouts. When not at work he can be found puttering around his yard or practicing the piano.
Cindy Lakatos has loved animals, especially cats, for her whole life. This passion pushed her towards animal medicine and she went on to receive her degree in biology from Fairfield University in 1998. She joined Monroe Animal Hospital in March of 2003, and has worked as a technician for the practice ever since. Cindy lives in Stratford with her husband John and multiple rescued cats. She loves horses and enjoys riding as often as she can. Cindy is also an avid reader and film enthusiast.
Lynn Bistyga has worked as a technician for Monroe Animal Hospital since joining the practice in November of 1999. She lives in Monroe with her newly rescued dog, Daisy, and her two cats, Emily and Emmalou. Lynn also enjoys hiking, particularly with Daisy. When she is not spending her time caring for animals, Lynn enjoys playing horseshoes. She is also a die-hard Yankees and Cowboys fan.
Gail Burrows works as a receptionist. She joined Monroe Animal Hospital in January 2003. Gail lives in Trumbull and likes to keep busy with her children and grandchildren. She is also an avid cook and so she enjoys spending her free time experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
Michelle Dayton has been a veterinary technician at Monroe Animal Hospital since the doors opened in May 1992. She currently lives in Bridgeport with her husband Ronnie, daughters Hannah and Ava and her dog and cat. She is an avid fitness enthusiast and is a certified Cardio Kickboxing instructor.
Kathleen Burg has been involved in the practice from its inception in various roles. Currently she can be seen at the front desk helping to keep the ship running. She has a BA from Hofstra University and is the proud mother of 3 boys- Joshua, Jacob and Ethan and 2 energetic Jack Russells- Zoey Jane and Zeppelin. She enjoys travel and gardening.
