The mission of the Monroe Animal Hospital is to provide help to our clients and patients in their time of need. We will offer solutions and options in a professional and courteous manner that best fits our clients and patients needs and beliefs. We understand that the decision making process with regards to patient care can be varied and our job is to help the client navigate to a successful treatment decision with an understanding of all the issues involved.
Martin F. Burg, MS, DVM opened Monroe Animal Hospital in May 1992. He has an undergraduate degree in Biology from Cornell University and a Masters of Science degree from University of New Hampshire in Reproductive Physiology. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee in 1988. He enjoys many outdoor activities and is actively involved in the Boy Scouts. When not at work he can be found puttering around his yard or practicing the piano.
Dr. Nicole Waldo was born in California, but soon moved to the Eastcoast with her family. She attended Trumbull High School in Trumbull, Connecticut, before moving on to the University of New Hampshire, where she received her degree in biology in 1995. Dr. Waldo was then accepted into the University of Missouri’s Veterinary School, and she received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She then began practicing in New York, where she continued until joining Monroe Animal Hospital in November of 2007. Nicole lives in Monroe with her husband Dave, her black lab Jester, her silver cat Archer, and a chinchilla named Bugs. Nicole enjoys skiing, kayaking and scuba diving. She is also and avid reader and self-proclaimed “movie buff.”
Cindy Lakatos has loved animals, especially cats, for her whole life. This passion pushed her towards animal medicine and she went on to receive her degree in biology from Fairfield University in 1998. She joined Monroe Animal Hospital in March of 2003, and has worked as a technician for the practice ever since. Cindy lives in Stratford with her husband John and multiple rescued cats. She loves horses and enjoys riding as often as she can. Cindy is also an avid reader and film enthusiast.
Michelle Dayton has been a veterinary technician at Monroe Animal Hospital since the doors opened in May 1992. She currently lives in Monroe with her husband Ronnie, daughters Hannah and Ava and her dog and cat. She is an avid fitness enthusiast and is a certified Cardio Kickboxing instructor.
Kathleen Burg has been involved in the practice from its inception in various roles. Currently she can be seen at the front desk helping to keep the ship running. She has a BA from Hofstra University and is the proud mother of 3 boys- Joshua, Jacob and Ethan and 2 energetic Jack Russells- Zoey Jane and Zeppelin. She enjoys travel and gardening.
Jenny Kerce lives in Monroe with her son Dan and her four cats; Twinkie, Marley, Maggie and Sebastian. Also mom to Amy and grandmother to Aiden. Jenny has been with us since 2010 and loves to garden, make jewelry and is a flea market vendor.
Samantha lives in New York with her dog Roxie and cat Remington. She has a BA from Quinnipiac University in Biomedical Sciences and also studied Psychology. Samantha has been with us since 2015 and loves dancing, chicken nuggets, chocolate and traveling.
